Rainbow Group September 2019
The first Rainbow Group of the academic year took place on Monday 23rd September and was attended by 20 of our registered families, 5 of which were all new to the Rainbow Group.
The children undertook an ‘All About Me’ activity which involved them thinking about their own awareness and encouraging them to focus on themselves; the activity aimed to create empowerment and raise self – esteem.
As it was the first session back since before the summer, the parent/carer led activity was all about finding what others in their peer group liked which then enabled opportunities to meet others and share experiences.
The youth group welcomed a new leader, Antonietta who focussed on wellbeing and getting to know the teenagers with a view to planning future projects.
As you can see, it was a busy and fun packed session, witnessed by our guests Cala Homes (who funded the session) and Dr Holly Thompson, a clinical psychologist who we’ve recently been working with.
The next session takes place on Monday 21st October where our beneficiaries will be invited to create ‘mindfulness wands’.
