We were hopeful to return to our face to face sessions in September but as the time approached it became apparent it would not be possible and so we put our heads together and created a Distanced Activity Support Programme (DASP). The programme is designed to support bereaved children by undertaking a craft activity that focusses on feelings, emotions and wellbeing. Each month between October and March we will send a pack containing instructions and all items needed to create an activity at home. In October the children taking part received a Positivity Box to make and fill with positive affirmations and memories. Our beneficiaries have told us that they are missing the face to face Rainbow Group sessions where they would meet other children, share experiences and take home crafts they had completed. This programme is designed to keep communication open with the families we support and offer them some focus and hope throughout the time we are unable to meet. At the end of the programme the children will receive a certificate and a treat.
