We appreciate how difficult it has been for many with the recent restrictions and the unknown ending to them so we decided to keep the first group back light and fun! Donna created a word association game using the word Rainbow and colours of the rainbow. The children shared Snow stories with us and their Lolly Pop Calendar creations (this month’s DASP activity).
The word association game is a great way to distract the mind from immediate worries and anxiety. Children or even adults can use any topic they want and either imagine it or write the words down. It’s also a good game to do together as a family or in a small group.
With Children’s Mental Health Week next week it’s a welcome reminder of how children respond positively to creativity which is a way to express themselves and their feelings and emotions.
One of the children attending told us ‘it’s been so nice to just be myself on here’
