Over the past couple of months, we have had some awesome people doing events and challenges to raise awareness and funds for Harry’s Rainbow. We greatly appreciate all the support that is offered to us especially over the last couple of years when everything has been uncertain.
I want to mention and thank Andy Lambert, who not only is one of our beneficiaries but over the past couple of months has taken part in a Stampede Triathlon and the Turing 10K at the Milton Keynes Marathon weekend. He raised over £950 for us. Our very own Trustee Andy Perrin also braved the Cowman Triathlon at the beginning of August and raised £1419.64 – Well done guys!!
We were recently invited to Bushfield school for their own version of the Jessica’s Rainbow Run – they had decided to hold a colour run for all the children! We had an amazing time with the teachers throwing coloured powder at each year group as they ran past, so much so that next year we will be adding the colour to Jessica’s Rainbow Run in 2022. Not only did they all have a great time they raised over £8000, of which £4000 of this was donated to Harry’s Rainbow.
We were very saddened to see that Budgens in Stony Stratford had a burglary last weekend and our collection pots were stolen, thankfully they had not long been emptied. The pots have now been replenished and hopefully they will stay put!!
I also want to thank everybody who has signed up to regular donations and become a Friend of Harry’s Rainbow. We really appreciate these donations, and the regular income enables us to plan ahead the support we are able to offer the bereaved children.
Next Month we have our London to Brighton bike ride where we have 23 riders taking part in this yearly event, we love this event and enjoy being at the finish line cheering everyone in, so far, they have raised over £3000 between them, and I am sure this will rise closer to the day. We are also now looking forward to our BIG Christmas raffle again this year…..
