This month saw another 2 Rainbow Groups take place, with the second one pulling in our biggest attendance so far of 32 children, 28 adults and 17 in our youth group.
All the children enjoyed getting a bit messy whilst making their stress balls, another tool to add to their suitcases that helps them when they feel a bit overwhelmed.
The second group trialed a new hall. We are always seeing how to better support our families and so a change of scenery can sometimes help. After reviewing the feedback, it has been decided to stay where we are, but the comments made are being taken into account and we are looking how to make changes that will enable the groups to be even better going forwards!
A trustee also came to the second group to help out and see the amazing work our volunteers do at the groups, as well as to have the chance to chat to the families to understand more fully the support we offer. They were blown away by the feeling of fun in the groups, and overwhelmed and honoured when a child started to speak about their loved one that had died to them.
All the families appreciate the chance to be in a space with other bereaved individuals and this is something that is fed back to us time and time again, showing how vital these groups are. In order to continue to offer these groups, we still need more volunteers to help out. Please email rachel@harrysrainbow.co.uk if you can offer 4 hours once a month on a Monday evening from 4-7 p.m. to help out.
