Near the end of 2022 we launched our annual hamper appeal on MKFM. Every year we provide families who are facing their first Christmas without their loved one with a hamper to ease what can be a difficult time. We cannot do this without the help and support of the local community and they stepped up once again!
With the help of big businesses, local community groups and some generous individuals, we provided 28 hampers, supporting 55 children with toys, gifts and yummy treats!
These hampers are always received with shock and awe at the generosity of strangers, and our families always appreciate the effort and thought put into them. Some feedback we have received reflects that:
“We are totally blown away by the kindness and generosity of those who gifted the hamper.
We can’t thank you enough it has put a smile on my child’s face, which I really needed to see.”
“Thank you so much for our lovely hamper, it’s so thoughtful and the children are very excited”
Something new we introduced this year was a surprise voucher in the post to those families who were unable to receive a hamper for any reason. This allowed them to shop for some goodies to treat themselves with. The vouchers supported a further 19 children and were very well received too.
“The kids have just found the voucher! Thankyou so so much! That is incredibly generous and extremely appreciated. You have made christmas so much easier.”
“Thank you so much for the gift voucher, I am so grateful for your thoughtfulness and kindness. Our gift felt like the biggest blessing. I have told my child that they can choose all the shopping we buy. So looking forward to eating what they pick”
These small gestures really do make a tough time a little easier, and are not possible without ongoing support, so thank you.
