Where has the time gone?? We have been so busy over the last few months I can’t believe we are in August already…….
We have had some incredible support from schools in Milton Keynes doing some awesome challenges to fundraise and raise awareness of Harry’s Rainbow – Cold Harbour Primary School did a sponsored walk – the whole school took part in Clean Air Day and walked through Tattenhoe raising £1,745! Stantonbury Campus School held various activities, including a fun slime the teacher and the water bucket challenge, raising £697 and Kents Hill Park School raised £116.98 by doing a business competition where students were asked to create trade stands offering products and services. It is great to see schools being so enthusiastic by getting involved to make a positive impact.
July was a busy month for us – we took part in the Newport Pagnell Carnival on Saturday 1st July, the theme was Hollywood, so we had to choose The Wizard of Oz for our float!! We had sooo much fun walking in the parade. We had a tin man, scarecrow, wicked witch and Dorothy – not forgetting toto – together with a float decorated with the Emerald City and the Yellow Brick Road. We came second in the walking fancy dress category and 2nd in the childrens entry!!! Next year we are aiming for a win.
Our flagship event Harry’s Rainbow Colour Run and Fun Day was held on 8th July, the event was a massive sell out and despite the weather we had a fantastic day.
We had 7 brave humans take on the skydive this year – the weather was ideal on the day and they all thoroughly enjoyed themselves and raised a whopping £6643.86 between them. This amount would pay for our Peer Groups for a whole year, so thank you guys!
Huge well done to Sue and Andre who took on the Colour Obstacle Rush in Milton Keynes and raised £237.91 whilst having great fun!
We also had the lovely ladies from Milton Keynes Chamber of Commerce pop along to the office and presented us with a cheque for £1409.27. We were their Charity of the Year and this is was they had raised over the year for us.
