The first Rainbow Group of the year was held at new premises to allow for the rapid growth in beneficiaries attending. In all, 73 attended this month including 5 new families who have recently registered with us for support. We all navigated the new premises and space really well and feedback from everyone attending was very promising with requests for more crafts! Providing craft activities has many benefits to children and young people.Creativity calms and heals. It can help us to access and process our emotions and it gives a positive outlet for our energy and attention. This month the children enjoyed making slime and moulding plasticine. The youth group, for 12-18 year olds held discussions over their plans for the coming months which will include team building and wellbeing activities. With the benefits of additional private space our Family Liaison Officer was able to hold private discussions and create an area for the children to decorate photos of their special person for the Rainbow board.
